K.N. College for Women
K.N. College for Women, founded in 1957, with 300 students offered graduation courses in Science and Arts.
In 1962 it became a constituent college of Jai Narain Vyas University, then known as Jodhpur University. It has now grown into the largest multi-faculty women degree college in Western Rajasthan.
In 1979 college expanded with addition of Faculty of Commerce and in 1991 started B.Sc. Home Science programme also.
Achievement of high ranks/merits in the main university examinations by the college students has marked a steady growth in academic performance. Today the college is the largest examination Centre for women candidates (regular and private) for Jai Narain Vyas University undergraduate examinations.
Science - College is imparting education for Undergraduate degree in Science and Home Science. The subjects offered are Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Physics & Maths and Statistics are taught In B.Sc. Home Science subjects like Human Development, Home Management, Food & Nutrition; Clothing & Textile; Extension Education & Women Physiology are offered.
Arts - The subjects offered are English .Literature; Hindi Literature; Sanskrit, Urdu, Political Science, History, Sociology, Home Science, Psychology, Geography, Rajasthani, Music, Fine Arts, Economics, Public Administration; Philosophy & Environmental Studies.
Commerce - There are three department viz. Accounting, Business Administration and Bus. Fin. & Economics. The strength of students admitted for the session 2016-17 in B.A., B.Com., B. Sc. & B.Sc.H.Sc. is 427
The College is proud of its well maintained library, one of the best in the University, which is visited by over hundred students every day. The library has a collection of 81,326 books and subscribes to 39 periodicals and magazines .Library is enriched with books on all subjects including Text and Reference books authored by eminent writers. A special section in the Library is devoted to books on competitive exams.
It also provides the services of the Book Bank to the students of BPL category with a collection of nearly 20914 books. Library also has a spacious reading room for girls where they can sit and refer books and note down the important issues.
College Library is fully digitalized
The college has well equipped four laboratories each for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Statistics, and Home Science. There are laboratories/rooms for Psychology, Music, Geography, and Fine Arts also.
Hostel accommodation is provided to students on merit bases. Warden of K.N. College Girls Hostel is Prof. Beena Bhatia
Proctors are appointed by the Chief Proctor of J.N. Vyas University.They are assigned the responsibilities to maintain discipline, law and order in the campus. For the academic session 2016-17 Proctors appointed are-
Lt. Kirti Maheshwari, Department of Hindi enrols the students as cadets in the NCC Army wing
Dr. Namrata Swarnkar heads the NCC Air Wing.
Social Service activities are managed by Six NSS Units of the college. The NSS Programme Officers are-

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. For the physical and mental holistic development of the students he college has a very good infrastructural sports facility. Facitlities provided are -

Keen awareness has been created among students and staff about the use of computers, online learning, social networking, etc. Dr. Pankaj Nama, Department of Zoology is the Incharge of the Net Work Resource.
The Career Counseling Cell and Placement Cell established in the campus are committed to train the students so that they are able to develop a good personality and excellent communication skills. The cell assist them to make a choice of the right course for further studies and also right job offers to begin their career journey.
Prof. Preeti Mathur, Department of Psychology is the Incharge of the Career Counseling Cell of the College.
The college provides platforms to the graduate students for Placement also. Organizations and Institutions conduct written exams and hold interviews for the students in the campus itself.
Legal Service Clinic established in the College has an Advocate appointed by the District Legal Service Authority. The Advocate visits the college twice a week. Problems of students are addressed in the clinic
Photocopying machine is also set up in the K.N. College premises for the benefit of the students.
Canteen and Saras Parlour are available for the students and staff during college hours.
Incharge Admission, Master Timetable & Section Lists (.B.A)
The Campus has well accessed ramps for the Faculty and students to enter the classrooms and Administrative Block for the physically challenged students. Wheel Chairs are also made available as per requirement.
A Braille Computer donated by Jain Social Group and Braille Books donated by Dr. Kusum Lata Bhandari, Pragya Niketan is also available at the college library for the visually challenged students of K.N. College.
More than 100 students were registered through a MOU signed between Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai and Kamla Nehru College for Women for National University Students Skill Development Programme.
Foundation Courses, Youth Leadership, English Communication, etc were the courses run by NUSSD to enhance the skills of the students.
